Site issues

Just a quick note on some admin stuff for the new blog. 

I have found that some blog posts are not able to add comments.  I have found that this is due to a setting – close comments after 28 days.  This has been fixed and new comments can be added.

I am also in the middle of moving the blog, again.  I have found that I can get better prices when hosting with google.  Currently it is about half the price of my current hosting site Hostgator and I get 12 months or upto $360 free.

I have set up a micro instance in the google hosting cloud and set up wordpress, I have then backed up this site and restored it into the google site.  I have a couple of other things to make sure of like the menus and links are all good before I change my domain to use the google hosting.  You as a viewer of this wont see any changes, hopefully.

After that I plan to add some other features like a register page so you can be notified of new posts maybe even by category so you are not bombarded with information you are not interested in. This will also have a log in so you can contribute in some way.

I will also add a donation section to keep this page going, the running cost for it will be about NZ$50 a year for the domain name and I am hoping under $10 per month for hosting with google. The stories are that google hosting can cost pennies, well we will see.
